TabSense Selected as Winner of WITSA Global AI Awards 2026

WISTA Global AI Awards recognise organisations whose artificial intelligence work demonstrates measurable innovation and societal impact.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Artificial intelligence is reshaping how the world's restaurants operate, and the question of which markets will produce the companies leading that shift is being answered faster than most expected. Increasingly, the answer is the Middle East.

TabSense, the AI restaurant technology company behind the region's fastest-growing point-of-intelligence platform, has been named as the official winner of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) Global AI Awards 2026 under the Global AI Award for Entrepreneurship category, following a global evaluation process.

WISTA is a global consortium of ICT industry associations representing more than 80 countries. Its Global AI Awards recognise organisations whose artificial intelligence work demonstrates measurable innovation and societal impact. National nominees advance to a global evaluation stage, judged against entrants from across the alliance's membership of more than 80 countries.

Winning against nominations from more than 80 countries, reflects TabSense's work building autonomous AI agents for the food and beverage sector — a category the company has termed the Point of Intelligence. Rather than recording transactions after they occur, TabSense's agents operate continuously inside restaurant workflows: detecting cashier fraud saving thousands of dollars every day in revenue leakage, generating live cross-sell recommendations that lift average basket size by more than 7%, forecasting inventory ahead of stockouts, and delivering complete operational reporting to franchise owners via WhatsApp at any hour.

The platform is live in more than 3,000 restaurant locations and is adding 200 to 300 new locations each month, having reached its first 1,000 locations in under twelve months — a pace that outstrips the early trajectory of Toast, the US restaurant technology company that took three years to reach the same milestone and now operates at global scale.

TabSense was founded by a team whose engineering and entrepreneurial roots span the region, with its commercial base in Saudi Arabia and a founding heritage in Jordan — a profile that reflects how the Middle East's technology sector increasingly draws talent and capital across borders rather than within them.

Dr. Mohammad Jaber, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TabSense, said: “Recognition from a global body like WITSA matters because it measures the same thing our customers measure — whether the technology actually changes the outcome. Restaurant operators in this region are running on margins that leave no room for systems that simply report what already happened. We built agents that act. That this work is being evaluated on a global stage, nominated from within our own region, says something about where the centre of gravity in applied AI is moving.”

TabSense is backed by Jasoor Ventures, with strategic partnerships in place with STC and Zain.
